MFA Foundation Partners with National Summer Learning Association to Amplify Summer Learning Opportunities

Bryan Corbett: “This partnership demonstrates our commitment to promoting education in policymaking and financial services, creating new learning opportunities for students,
and closing the achievement gap.”

WASHINGTON, DC– The Managed Funds Association’s Foundation (MFA Foundation) and the National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) are partnering this summer to sponsor four students with Congressional internships in Washington, D.C.

The MFA Foundation is the Managed Funds Association’s 501(c)(3) that focuses on enhancing education, research, and outreach in the alternative asset management industry. The partnership between the MFA Foundation and NSLA, the only national nonprofit focused on ensuring all students in America have access to high quality summer learning opportunities, is designed to help close the opportunity gap that exists between low-income and high-income students over the summer months.

“Partnering with NSLA will expand summer learning opportunities for individuals interested in financial services and public policy,” said MFA President and CEO, Bryan Corbett. “This partnership demonstrates our commitment to promoting education in policymaking and financial services, creating new learning opportunities for students, and closing the achievement gap.”

“NSLA is excited to partner with MFA and welcomes students to Washington, D.C. who would not be able to access this opportunity otherwise. Summer internships are often a critical step in securing a first-time full-time job, unfortunately unpaid internships are out of reach for too many low-income students,” said NSLA CEO, Aaron Philip Dworkin. “We look forward to providing paid internships, professional development, and networking opportunities throughout the summer alongside MFA’s team.

MFA’s Foundation is reenergizing its efforts to expand career opportunities in the alternative asset management industry. By partnering with NSLA’s annual Summer Policy Internship Program, the Foundation will provide four student interns with a living and clothing stipend, and lodging.

The summer internship and leadership program will also provide the interns with exposure to policymaking, the financial services industry, professional development, and networking opportunities.
