MFA Legal & Compliance 2022 - COVID-19 Protocols

MFA staff and vendors are fully vaccinated. MFA encourages all attendees to wear a mask, routinely wash/sanitize hands, and socially distance when possible.

• We are not mandating daily on-site testing for entry into the conference. Rapid antigen testing will be available to all attendees daily courtesy of MFA, but it is optional.
• Attendees with international travel to New York should refer to the State Department travel website.

MFA encourages attendees to:

• Receive a COVID-19 booster shot. A booster shot is not mandatory to attend, however, MFA strongly recommends if you are eligible to receive.
• Wear a mask, socially distance, and wash your hands often using The Plaza sanitizing stations located throughout the conference space.

Each day you will need to attest to the following as a condition of your admission to all of the on and offsite MFA Legal & Compliance conference events:

1. I am fully vaccinated in accordance with current CDC guidelines.
2. I am not experiencing any symptoms of illness including cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell or any other symptoms commonly associated with the Coronavirus/COVID-19.
3. I have not knowingly been exposed to someone with a suspected and/or confirmed case of the COVID-19 in the past ten (10) days.
4. I have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past fourteen (14) days.
5. I am following CDC recommended guidelines in order to limit my exposure to the COVID-19 and will continue to do so through the conclusion of the MFA Legal & Compliance conference.
6. I understand that MFA may immediately remove or prohibit me from in-person activities at the MFA Legal & Compliance conference if I exhibit symptoms associated with COVID-19, or if I fail to comply with any safety procedures stipulated by MFA or the event venue.

Failure to provide this attestation may result in your exclusion from MFA events during the MFA Legal & Compliance conference.

Anyone registering for MFA Legal & Compliance 2022 on the MFA website must also sign the following consent, waiver and release agreement.

By participating in the MFA Legal & Compliance conference and any associated events, I acknowledge and understand the highly contagious nature of Coronavirus/COVID-19, and that current medical knowledge of the virus, including its transmissibility and risk remains uncertain, particularly in light of evolving variants of the virus.

Although MFA and the event venues have instituted preventative measures based on current CDC and other governmental guidance in order to reduce the possible spread of COVID-19 at the MFA Legal & Compliance Conference, I understand and acknowledge that neither MFA nor the event venues are able to guarantee that these preventative measures will prevent the transmission of the virus, infection and/or illness.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I understand and assume the risk of becoming exposed to and/or infected with COVID-19 by or from the actions, omissions or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to on-site contractors, MFA staff, venue staff and guests, meeting attendees, and their families, as well as members of the general public who I may come in contact with while traveling to and from the MFA Legal & Compliance and its various events, and while participating in the MFA Legal & Compliance conference. I nevertheless expressly assume all of the aforementioned risks, including the risk of being exposed to, contracting, and/or spreading COVID-19, in order to be able to participate in-person at The Plaza and any associated MFA events in the New York, NY area on May 23, 2022.

WAIVER AND RELEASE: As a condition of my participation in this MFA Legal & Compliance Conference and any associated events, I, do hereby expressly waive any rights against and release and hold harmless MFA and any of its officers, attorneys, employees, volunteers, affiliates, contractors, agents, heirs, legal successors, and assigns (collectively “MFA”) from and against any and all claims, suits, demands, losses, damages, expenses, or liability of whatever kind or nature (collectively “liability”), under any theory of law or equity, that may arise during or as a result of my participation in the MFA Legal & Compliance conference, including but not limited to any such liability related to or arising out of illness, injury, or death associated with infection of COVID-19 or complications, symptoms, or other effects resulting from contracting COVID-19. My consent, waiver, and release will be governed exclusively by New York law and the exclusive venue for any dispute arising from this consent, waiver and release will be a court of competent jurisdiction in the District of Columbia.
