Ryan Hedgepeth joined MFA after serving as the Deputy Executive Director for Member Engagement at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), where he was responsible for managing relationships throughout the Democratic Caucus.
He has worked in a variety of senior political and policy roles during his more than 20-year career on Capitol Hill and in the Obama Administration. Hedgepeth has served as Chief of Staff for four members of the U.S. House of Representatives, including former members, Brian Baird (WA-03), Brad Miller (NC-13) and Madeleine Bordallo (GU). His most recent stint on the Hill was serving as Chief of Staff for Congresswoman Brenda L. Lawrence (MI-14). Among his most notable public policy successes were in the financial services arena. He was a co-author of anti-predatory mortgage lending provisions and was instrumental in developing the first bill to create the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB), both of which were included in the landmark Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
Hedgepeth earned a BA in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
