MFA and Bipartisan Policy Center Host a Discussion on SEC-CFTC Harmonization

As the SEC and CFTC work to modify post-crisis rules and reduce regulatory overlap and duplication, Bipartisan Policy Center and Managed Funds Association hosted a thoughtful conversation with the regulators leading the charge: SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce and CFTC Commissioner Brian Quintenz. Politico’s Chief Economic Correspondent Ben White moderated the conversation.

For years MFA has advocated for increased coordination and harmonization between the SEC and CFTC. Commissioners Peirce and Quintenz—who have been tapped to lead their respective commissions’ harmonization efforts discussed the key regulatory issues facing their commissions in 2019, including their joint efforts to reduce duplicative rules and regulation among the commissions. The event also featured a discussion with market participants and experts.
