On December 7, MFA submitted comments to the CFTC with FIA, FIA PTG, ISDA, SIFMA, SIFMA AMG, the U.S. Chamber and CMC, requesting a 180-day extension to the comment period for the supplemental proposal to Regulation AT. The request aligned with House Agricultural Committee Chairman Conaway’s request to Chairman Massad of the CFTC to extend the Reg AT comment period by 180-days. The industry coalition felt that given the uncertainty of the transition process, the most prudent approach would be for the current Commission to extend the comment period to allow the forthcoming Commission to review and take collective action in the area in 2017.
