U.S. Legislative & Regulatory Priorities

In 2010, the U.S. Congress and the President prioritized their commitment to financial regulatory reform with the passage and signing of the Dodd-Frank Act, the most comprehensive overhaul of the regulation of financial markets and participants since the 1930s.

In the months ahead, MFA will remain engaged with legislators and policymakers to demonstrate the alternative investment industry’s commitment to meaningful financial regulatory reform.  The following issues are MFA’s priorities:

Tax Policy

U.S. Financial & Capital Markets Regulation

Enhance Capital Formation, Investment & Growth

Protect Investor Rights

Promote Fair & Stable Swaps Markets

CFTC Reauthorization
