Louis Costantino, Jr. is vice president, government relations. In this capacity, Lou is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of MFA’s political and advocacy outreach efforts before the Executive Branch, Congress and relevant regulatory agencies. Lou works directly with Roger Hollingsworth, MFA’s executive vice president and managing director, government relations, to help devise MFA’s legislative and regulatory priorities and initiatives.
Lou joined MFA from Merrill Lynch, where he served as director, government affairs. At Merrill Lynch, Lou had primary responsibility for representing the firm on legislative and regulatory matters affecting Merrill Lynch’s banks and other financial institutions, savings and retirement, privacy and data protection and mortgage markets. He was also responsible for coordinating Merrill Lynch’s state and federal government relations activities and keeping Merrill Lynch and its clients apprised of developments. He joined Merrill Lynch in the Washington office in 2003, covering coordination of federal and state issues. Prior to joining Merrill, Lou worked at the Securities Industry Association (now SIFMA). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The Catholic University of America. Lou is a native of Washington, D.C.
