Managing Director, Head of EU

MFA is seeking a team member to join the Global Markets and Research team. The Head of EU is responsible for establishing and leading a new MFA office in Brussels. This position will be a key part of the team that develops MFA’s global presence. The incumbent will work directly with Washington and New York-based staff and play a crucial role in developing MFA’s ability to shape policy in Europe and globally, under the direction of the Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Global Markets and Research.

A successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of strong experience in policymaking, policy analysis, or advocacy with a focus on Brussels and the EU. Knowledge of hedge fund issues is preferred but not required.

Vice President, Content and Programming

MFA is seeking a team member to join the Membership, Investor Relations and Conference/Events team. The Vice President, Content and Programming will oversee the development of major conference programming, panel development, and content preparation for all nine US and global MFA conferences.

A successful candidate will have a strong background (ideally 8+ years) in content development, event programming, and execution and a solid knowledge of financial markets and the investor universe in the alternative investment space. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills and established relationships in the fund manager and investor space and a solid understanding of how to engage the industry’s key constituencies. Booking and event production experience also helpful.

Director, Communications

MFA is seeking a team member who can perform across functions to advance our agenda on policy issues and educate the public about the hedge fund industry. The director will work closely with member firms, legal and government relations staff, conference and events staff, and outside consultants to help communicate policy and regulatory matters to the media, as well as external and member audiences.

The ideal candidate is a strong strategic thinker with substantial experience working in a fast-paced communications operation in multi-client consulting, industry, a trade association, or government. A successful candidate should have a proven track record executing public affairs campaigns and driving earned media in national, financial, and regional outlets. The director must be a team player, self-starter, organized, and willing to learn new skills and take on a variety of assignments.

Director and Counsel, US Regulatory Affairs

MFA is seeking a legal/policy professional with experience in trading and markets (equities, Treasuries, derivatives) issues to join the regulatory affairs team, who will also work across functions to advance policy initiatives for the Association. The team member will collaborate with regulatory and government relations professionals, together as part of MFA’s policy team, to help effectively represent private fund managers on policy and regulatory matters.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and strategic thinker with experience working in a fast-paced policy office in financial services at a law firm, a trade association, or government. In this role, a successful candidate will analyze the impact of legislative and regulatory developments on MFA members, work with MFA members to develop Association policy, draft comments to regulators, oversee outside counsel/consultants and engage directly with policymakers and regulators.

Director, Content and Programming

MFA is seeking a team member to join the Membership, Investor Relations and Conference/Events team. The team member will lead the development of major conference programming, panel development, and content preparation for all six major MFA conferences as well as selected seminars and peer-to-peer forums.

The ideal candidate has marketing and/or communications experience, preferably within the financial services or private sector, experience developing and executing programming for events focused on the financial services space, and excellent knowledge of the latest communication channels and trends. In this role, a successful candidate will lead content and programming initiatives for selected conferences, seminars, and peer-to-peer forums at the Association, develop and execute marketing strategy for each of the individual conferences with specific revenue targets.
