Service Providers are important participants in the Alternative Investment Industry, and their support is critical to the continued growth and success of the industry: Brokerage, legal, accounting, administrative and recruiting firms of all sizes, structures and domiciles as well as international exchanges. MFA has created four Membership categories to suit each Service Provider based on its size and level of benefits.

Sustaining

Sustaining Members are generally firms with a large number of employees dedicated full-time to serving the needs of the Alternative Investment Community, who commit significant intellectual and financial capital in order to help MFA pursue its initiatives. Sustaining Members have the opportunity to provide substantial impact on MFA initiatives through participation on a wide range of active committees and working groups, and often have first opportunities to speak at MFA events. Capital

Capital Members are generally firms with an intermediate number of employees dedicated full-time to serving the needs of the Alternative Investment Community. Capital Members do not provide the same level of commitment of Sustaining Members, but are able to participate in significant ways on certain committees and working groups, and they do receive preferred opportunities to speak at events. Basic

Basic Members are firms with a small number of employees dedicated full-time to serving the needs of the Alternative Investment Community, who believe it is of utmost importance for the alternative asset industry (including Service Providers) to have a unified voice in Washington, DC and beyond. While they participate less frequently in helping shape MFA’s policies, they continuously are abreast of important industry events and MFA initiatives. Exchange

Exchanges around the globe provide much of the platform for hedge fund manager trading, and hedge funds provide a significant volume of trading for each exchange. Exchange Members demonstrate continued commitment to the growth of the industry, which in turn results in growth for the Exchanges. Exchange Membership annual dues are based on volume.
