The issues that participants in the global alternative investment industry face on a daily basis grow and change in significance and scope as the alternative investment industry, in particular the hedge fund industry, expands in both size of assets under management and variations in strategies. MFA proactively engages policy makers, including members of Congress and their staff, commissioners and staff of regulatory agencies and representatives of other governmental bodies, in order to foster a better understanding of the alternative investment industry and to ensure viable markets, investor protection and the prevention of systemic risk.
