The second edition of MFA’s new monthly newsletter, Understanding Hedge Funds, was released earlier today. The newsletter compliments MFA’s Policy Brief newsletter, while also expanding the Association’s online offerings to a wider audience interested in learning more about the fundamentals of how hedge funds operate and execute their investment strategies. This newsletter is distributed on the second-Wednesday of each month. In July, the newsletter highlights some of MFA’s educational infographics and industry research, as well as a YouTube video that covers how the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) in Europe will impact the hedge fund industry.
MFA’s recent infographic and presentation on how investors measure hedge fund performance is also featured this month, as well as a new presentation that explains the fees associated with hedge funds and how they are employed by hedge fund managers. Distressed debt investing is illustrated in a recent MFA infographic, and highlights such topics as who invests and why it is a compelling investment platform for many fund managers. Finally, the newsletter features a video of MFA President and CEO Richard Baker discussing how the AIFMD regime will affect the industry and its investors.
